Stay on Track with Reading!

April is Reading Month this year! Our theme is “Stay on Track with Reading”.
All students in grades K-6 brought home reading contracts today. Each grade has weekly reading requirements throughout the month that must be met along the way. Their progress will be tracked on Mrs. Feldner’s awesome bulletin board!
The top reader in each grade (by minutes) will earn a pizza party on Thursday, May 6th! Students who complete all four weekly reading contracts will get to participate in our Reading Celebration, a fun-filled afternoon with the high schoolers on Friday, May 7th!
Attached is the calendar of events throughout the month, including an early dismissal on Thursday, April 16th for a staff in-service. A copy of this calendar was also sent home with all elementary students.
Happy reading!

Save the Date!

Our K-12 Starkweather School Spring Concert will be held IN PERSON on Thursday, May 6th at 6:30pm! Here’s what you need to know:
– Students are to be at the school by 6:00. Choir and band students in grades 5-12 should report to the music room, and all other students should go to their classrooms.
– Choir and band students are asked to dress in black and white with “a splash of color” – tie, scarf, etc. All other students can wear their best concert attire.
– Masks will not be required.
– Please review the attached “Starkweather School Audience Etiquette” policy.

Updated COVID-19 Protocols

Dear Starkweather Parents and Families,

In accordance with Governor Burgum’s November 14th Executive Order, all Starkweather students and staff are now required to wear masks throughout the day to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and keep everyone IN school. Please send your child(ren) with a clean mask each day – we are not responsible for providing them. If you have any questions, be sure to contact the office.

As always, thank you for your support and cooperation as we all work to get through this together!

American Education *Month* Parent Breakfast

The week of November 16th-20th is American Education Week! This is when we would normally hold our annual Parent Lunch, but that just isn’t in the cards this year. Instead, we are going to celebrate American Education MONTH, and invite parents to sign up for a day during the month of November to join your child(ren) for breakfast! Please visit the link below to choose a day that works for you. One family (up to 2 adults) may sign up per day, and masks must be worn when entering and leaving the building. There will be a specially-designated table in the lunchroom for our visitors – you’ll know it when you see it!

Picture Retakes

Picture retakes are scheduled for Thursday, October 15th at 8:30am for kids who were absent on picture day or would like their pictures redone. If you already received prints, please make sure those are returned to the school. If you need a new order form, give Julie a call and let her know!
