American Education Week Parent Breakfast

The week of November 15th-19th is American Education Week! We are going to celebrate by inviting parents (or grandparents) to sign up for a day during the month of November to join your child(ren) for breakfast! Two families may sign up per day, using the link below. There will be a specially designated table in the lunchroom for our VIP visitors – you’ll know it when you see it! If you have any questions, please let us know!

Christmas Wreath Fundraiser

It may be hard to imagine, but the time has come for our annual Christmas wreath fundraiser! All proceeds will go to our Starkweather PTO, and will be used to support various school activities throughout the year.
All students are being sent home with an order form to keep track of sales, as well as an envelope to collect money. The price per wreath is $17. All materials (including payments) are due no later than Wednesday, October 13th. The wreaths will be delivered at the end of November, at which time we will notify parents to come and pick them up.
Please do not hesitate to contact the school with any questions you may have. We are very excited for all of our students to have the opportunity to take part of this great fundraiser!

Flu Shot Clinic

Lake Region District Health will be conducting a flu shot clinic in the Starkweather School library on Tuesday, October 5th from 8:30-10:30! Consent forms are being sent home with students today, so if you would like your child(ren) to receive a flu shot next week, be sure to fill out and return the form as soon as possible. Community members are also welcome to attend!

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

Students in grades K-6 will be spending the day at Nelson’s Pumpkin Patch on Friday, September 17th! We plan to leave school by 8:30 in the morning and will return by 3:30. Each child will need to bring a sack lunch, $4 to cover the cost of admission, a snack for the ride home (we will end up having an early lunch), and outdoor clothing appropriate for the weather. They are also able to bring an additional $5 to spend at the gift shop. Permission slips AND admission fees must be turned in no later than Monday, September 13th. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the school.
We also plan to have a hayride and visit two local pumpkin patches later this fall. The date has yet to be determined – we will let you know as soon as we have it scheduled!
